The location

On the shores of Lough Corrib, County Galway

The lodges sit at Kilbeg Pier on the eastern shore of Lough Corrib — Ireland's largest lake. It's a quiet working community of fishing and farming, with Galway city to the south and Connemara to the west.

Close enough to everything. Far enough from everything else.

🏰

Ashford Castle & Cong

The world-famous Ashford Castle and the village of Cong — location of the Quiet Man — are 22 km away. A perfect afternoon trip.

🏔️

Connemara

The Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, the Sky Road and the village of Clifden are all within a scenic drive of a couple of hours — some of the finest scenery in Ireland.

🚶

Walking & cycling

Lakeside walks, forest trails, and the Western Way long-distance route all within easy reach. The 1.5 acre grounds are a starting point in themselves.

🏙️

Galway city

Ireland's festival city is 30 minutes south — medieval streets, seafood, music, the Claddagh and the buzz of a university town any time of year.

History & heritage

Ross Errilly Friary, founded 1349, is 8 km away. The area is rich in ringforts, Norman castles and early Christian sites — a living landscape for curious guests.

Hello — I'm Neil, and alongside my wife Zoe and our two boys Ronan and Dylan, we look after every aspect of the three lodges here at Kilbeg Pier. From preparation and cleaning to local recommendations and sorting out the unexpected, we're involved in every stay.

We've been hosting guests from Ireland, France, the US, Germany and further afield for eight years — and we genuinely love it. If you'd like to know more about the area, visiting Galway, or what to do on a wet Tuesday in Connemara, just ask.
